How to use Accelerated Reader

Student Accelerated Reader Quiz Process

1. Have student log in at https://hosted188.renlearn.com/52518/
2. When the student logs in have them select "take a quiz" under the "Accelerated Reader" tab.
3. Next have them pick the class you want. They have been assigned products in multiple classes (For instance, a child may have English Reading with Ms. X and Science with Ms. Y). Make sure they select the right class.
4. Next select what kind of quiz you would like them to take (there are four options: Reading Practice, Vocabulary Practice, Literacy Skills, and Other Reading Quiz). By far the most popular is Reading Practice.
5. Now the child searches for the title of the reading assignment. Example: "Hatchet" and press search as the bottom of the screen.
6. A link to the quiz will pop up at the bottom of the screen.
7. Click on the title of the quiz.
8. Select the method the child read the item
9. The screen will ask you "are you sure you want to take this quiz?" - Click "Yes"
10. Click "Start Quiz"

In order to clear locked students complete the following steps:

1. Log into your teacher account.
2. Click on "Personnel, Students, and Parents" in the upper left-hand corner under the "Renaissance Place" tab.
3. Click on "Clear Locked Students."
4. A list of blocked students will show up. Follow the instructions to clear the students who are locked out.
