Parent Coordinator

Dear Parent:

Although we have tried to communicate this information in various meetings and other ways, we wanted to make sure that all of our parents were aware of the School District’s communication services available at the school for parents who have limited English proficiency. If a parent does not speak English or is uncomfortable using English, they may contact Yolanda Gomez, the school’s parent involvement coordinator. She can work with the parent to arrange for an interpreter for meetings or an interpretation of any written document. General school or district-wide notices are disseminated in both English and Spanish, as are communications such as newsletters from the school. The School System uses ConnectEd, an automated calling service, as an additional means of general communication with parents. All ConnectEd messages are provided in both English and Spanish.

Vital messages or communications directed to individual students are also provided in the native language of the parent whenever possible. Should a parent receive a written notice that they do not understand, the parent should contact the parent involvement coordinator for an interpretation.
