Responsibilities of the Literacy Coach

1.   Lead Teacher Study Groups to:

   Provide  Knowledge About Literacy  Research, Theory,  and   Practice;

  Explore Knowledge and Tools to Assess Students;

  Engage in Personal and Collaborative Inquiry into Literacy.

2.  Teach Classes and Staff Development as  Prescribed by    the Principal to Meet Specific Teacher Needs.

3.       Develop Staff Development Schedule.

4.      Assist in Strategy Development by Observing,   Co-teaching, Modeling, and Providing Feedback.

5.     Create a Network of Teachers, Principals, and   Consultants Who Have a Shared Knowledge Base About Teaching and Literacy.

6.       Analyze, Interpret, and Report Data to Improve Instruction.

7.     Participate in Training to Increase Knowledge Base.

8.       Review Current Developments, Literature, and  Technical Sources of Information to Enhance Knowledge  Base.

9.      Perform Other Duties As Assigned by the   Superintendent of Schools.

10. Follow Federal and State Laws As Well As School   Board Policies.
