MARTIN LEADS GHS TO
ANOTHER TOP-10 AAA FINISH
The Red Elephants' golf team
finished in 10th place at the AAA State Golf Championships at Waynesboro
Country Club in Waynesboro, Georgia. Sophomore Jake Martin shot 77
to tie for fourth in very tough conditions. Other scores for GHS
were Justin Cochran, 82; Lawler West, 86; and Jack Seals, 95.

RED ELEPHANTS
QUALIFY FOR AAA STATE TOURNAMENT
The Red Elephants shot a 317 at the
Region 7AAA Championship Tournament at Chattahoochee Golf Course to
finish as the Region 7AAA Runner-up. The finish qualifies GHS for their
second consecutive AAA State Tournament appearance at Waynesboro Country
Club on May 7. Justin Cochran shot 76 and finished 4th
individually, Chipper Cronia a 77, and Jake Martin and Lawler West
both shot 82. Good luck at the State Tournament!

WORLEY CHOSEN TO
ASSIST IN BULLDOG SUMMER CAMP
Bryson Worley, Gainesville High
School's Varsity Men's coach, has been asked to serve as an assistant at
this summer's Coach Chris Haack's Bulldog Golf Camp. There
are two camp sessions: June 8-11, and June 12-15. If you are interested

GHS finishes 4th in
the 3rd Annual BIG RED Shootout
Sophomore Justin Cochran had 35
points in the Modified Stableford format to lead the Red Elephants who
finished with a team total of 125 points. Sophomore Jake Martin
had 31 points, junior Lawler West earned 30 points, and senior Chipper
Cronia finished with 29 to round out the four counting scores for
Gainesville. North Hall won the tournament with 143 points,
followed by Alpharetta (139), and St. Pius (138). Gainesville's
"B" Team finished 13th with 58 points, led by Scott LeFevre and Palmer
Loggins who both earned 16 points.

Cronia leads GHS to
7th place finish in Waynesboro
Senior Chipper Cronia shot a 73 to
finish second individually and be named to the All-Tournament Team in
the prestigious TaylorMade/Adidas Burke County Invitational at
Waynesboro Country Club.

Invitational at Waynesboro Country Club.

GHS Takes 2nd in
the Hall County Championships
Gainesville's attempt to win their
17th Hall County Championship and third straight title came up short at
Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club. North Hall won the event with a
two-day total of 315.

GHS finishes 8th of
22 teams at the Apple Mountain Invitational
Gainesville High's Justin Cochran
shot a two-over 74 to finish as individual runner-up in extremely windy
conditions. GHS shoots a 330 team score to finish as the top AAA in the
field. Lawler West (83), Jake Martin (84), and Chipper Cronia (89)
round out the four team scores for the Red Elephants. Junior Jack
Seals (84) competed as an individual in the tournament.

Team North Wins the
3rd Annual North-South Challenge
Gainesville High's Justin Cochran
teamed with Habersham Central's Will Lewallen to win their fourball
match 6&5. Junior Evan King and Habersham's Andy Ray won 2&1 to
help Team North capture the North-South title.

golfers at the Chattahoochee Golf Course Grill on Thursday, March 22, at
6:30 P.M. Parents and their children are strongly urged to attend!
Topics to be discussed will include (but are not limited to) junior
golf, importance of academics, and the collegiate recruiting process.

Red Elephants place
fourth at Birch River
The Gainesville boys golf team finished
with a 138 in the 10-team field of the Big
Red Shootout on Monday afternoon at the
Birch River Golf Course in Dahlonega.
Jace Windom, a senior, went on a tear
converting six consecutive birdies to finish
as low-medallist with 47 points in the
modified stableford points system.
Habersham Central placed second (148),
White County finished sixth (133) and North
Hall placed seventh (124).
Westminster won the Big Red Shootout for
the second consecutive season (154).

GHS WINS THE 18TH
ANNUAL HALL COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP!
The Red Elephants
win their 16th team title by shooting a 157 in the second
round. Freshman Justin Cochran was the tournament's low
medalist, shooting 37 in the second round. Jace Windom
carded a one-under 35 to lead the second day charge.
