Coaching Experience:
The 2009 season will be Coach Worley's sixth at the helm of the storied GHS Men's Golf Program.  He has led the Red Elephants to 31 top-ten finishes in various tournaments across the Southeast, including the 2005 and 2006 Hall County Championships, a fifth place finish at the 2006 AAA State Tournament, and another top-10 finish in 2007.  His overall record at Gainesville against all classifications is 609-255-36, and career record is 861-310-47.  His teams have also carried an average grade point average of 3.8 and average SAT score of 1246. 

Worley’s 2008 squad overcame injuries and inexperience by earning five top-five finishes, including a 3rd place finish in the Region 7AAA Championships.  The team finished with an overall record of 63-50-2, with a 19-6 record against Region 7AAA opponents.  Two players were named to the GHSGCA All-State team, and two garnered All-Area honors from The Gainesville Times.

In 2007, the team finished with an overall record of 78-40-6, a Region 7AAA Runner-up finish and record of 21-5 versus region opponents, four runner-up finishes, five top-five finishes, and a final Coaches' ranking of #9 in class AAA.  He had three players named to the GHSGCA All-State Team and one awarded The Times All-Area honors.

In 2006, the Red Elephants had an impressive overall record of 79-21-4, with a 23-1 record against Region 7AAA opponents, with four players being named to the NHSCGA All-America team and three garnering All-Area Honors. The team earned 8 Top-5 finishes across the Southeast, while securing three tournament victories including a second straight Hall County Championship.

Coach Worley was previously the golf coach at Elbert County High School from 1997-2002, where he led the Blue Devils to consecutive region championships and top-five state tournament appearances. His teams also won 4 tournament titles, in addition to leading the team to 11 top-five finishes and 18 top-ten finishes.  The golf team had a five-year record of 252-55-11 against all classifications during his stint in Elberton.  He received the 2001 and 2002 Region 8-AAA coach of the year award. Numerous players have earned collegiate scholarships under his direction, and have garnered several national, state, and local awards. In addition, he was the first golf coach in the history of Flowery Branch High School where he started the boys’ and girls' golf programs. 

Coach Worley works regularly with top area PGA Professionals Don Williams Jr. and Mark Bowen at Chattahoochee Golf Club, and has extensive experience in operating junior clinics by assisting Golf Digest Top-50 teacher Tom Ness. He is the only high school coach in Georgia who is trained to teach using Accelerized Golf's "Hotlines" technology, which is used in the CGC indoor teaching center, and the TOMI putting system which is used at The Valentine Athletic Center and CGC. He was the first high school coach in Georgia to be invited to instruct at UGA Coach Chris Haack's Bulldog Golf Camp, and is a regular participant in the camp.  "The Herd," which is the name of the junior golf program he created for Gainesville junior golfers, has grown to almost 70 members in grades 3-8. He competes personally at the amateur level in local, state, and regional tournaments.

Personal:  
Coach Worley and his wife, Allison, have two children.  He is a 1997 graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina where was a letterman for the Terrier Football team as a wide receiver and a Bonner Foundation Scholar.  An accomplished junior golfer, he played high school golf at Banks County High School, where he participated in the 1992 and 1993 GHSA State Championship Tournaments. In 2002, he was Flowery Branch High School's  Atlanta Journal-Constitution Honor Teacher of the Year. Worley serves as an administrative assistant, the Career Technical Instruction (CTI) Coordinator, and Student Support Team Coordinator at Gainesville High. 

His professional golf memberships include the United States Golf Association, the Georgia State Golf Association, the Golf Coaches Association of America, the Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association, and the National High School Golf Coaches Association.  He is the State AAA Representative for the Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association.
