Facilities

Gainesville High School Golf teams enjoy the very best facilities of any high school team in the state of Georgia. GHS is the only high school in Georgia to feature an on-campus indoor practice area with video capabilities, the TOMI putting system, short-game area, and a state-of-the-art indoor strength and conditioning area. The team also has exclusive access to the "Hotlines" indoor video teaching center at Chattahoochee Golf Course. Furthermore, an on-campus short game facility is currently being designed.

CHATTAHOOCHEE GOLF COURSE

Chattahoochee Golf Course has been the home of the storied Red Elephant Golf Program since 1960. In 2006, Chattahoochee Golf Course underwent a 2.8 million dollar renovation that was completed in December, 2006. Course Crafters and architect Kevin Hargrave teamed up to renovate this classic Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed layout. The renovation consists of twenty new green complexes, new tee complexes, extensive drainage, concrete cart paths, new irrigation pump station, indoor teaching facility, and many other projects to update the fifty-year old facility.

The "Hotlines" Teaching System Screen.  Utilized at the Chattahoochee Golf Course Learning Center, the Hotlines teaching system allows Coach Bryson Worley the ability to diagnose and correct swing mechanics to help ensure proper fundamentals and a repeatable swing. The GHS Golf Teams have exclusive access to the facility and state-of-the-art video equipment. In addition, the CGC Learning Center is a lighted indoor bay that gives the GHS team the ability to practice in inclement weather. (Picture is not of CGC teaching center)

HERB VALENTINE ATHLETIC CENTER

The Herb Valentine Athletic Center (2006) is a 11,430 square feet athletic center built adjacent to the existing field house. The facility includes a new state-of-the-art weight training area and an interior turf exercise space for agility and speed training. The center allows for advanced strength, flexibility, and conditioning for the GHS Men's Golf Team. The area also houses an indoor golf section that allows for indoor practice for all areas of the game, including full swing, short game, and putting. Head Coach Bryson Worley is trained in the JC Video golf video software and the TOMI putting software, and utilizes this advanced technology in conjunction with the indoor golf area.
