MISSION STATEMENT

The diverse student population at Gainesville High School creates a unique microcosm of our country.  The mission of the administration, faculty, and staff is to create an atmosphere, giving every student an opportunity to excel academically and to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities.  It is the desire of the school to promote an understanding of the differences and commonalities among our diverse cultures and an appreciation of each person as a unique individual.  The system and the school believe that success in these areas will allow students to leave our school with all the necessary tools to be productive and supportive citizens.

Student Achievement:   

To increase student achievement rate by 2% in 2004-05.

Reading in the Content Area:  

Each teacher will develop a   weekly lesson (20-30   minutes) focused on reading comprehension skills and decoding skills.
