Purpose
The purpose of the cheerleading program is to foster team work, school spirit, and self-esteem in all those participating. The development of physical fitness, rhythm, and coordination also play a huge role in the program. Aside from all of the personal benefits for all those participating in cheerleading, the program also reaches out to the school and the community to promote school and system spirit!
Organization
Team Leaders
Aside from the coaches, the squad is also led by two student leaders, the captain and the co-captain. Their role is to lead the group in stretching, warm-up activities, and to guide the squad during games.
Try-outs
Try-outs occur once a year during the second semester. There will be a one week long clinic for all those who wish to try-out to attend. During the week of try-outs, there are two release days. The first release day is after the first two days of try-outs. The final release day occurs after the full week of clinic. Try-outs will be held February 26- March 2 of 2007.
