Grading and Grade Reporting Policy

Students are graded at the end of each semester. Grades are sent home at that time via report cards.

Computation of Report Card Grades

GPA

All grades given and recorded will be entered as numerical grades. Honors and AP courses are given an extra point in converting numerical grades to Grade Point Average (GPA). An 84 in an honors or AP course is figured as an A in converting GPA. The reported GPA is weighted. Conversion from numerical to letter grade points will be as follows:

• A = 90-100      4 grade points
• B = 80-89        3 grade points
• C = 70-79        2 grade points
• F = below 70   0 grade points

Honor graduates are determined by GPA. Students who graduate with an overall weighted 3.9 or higher are declared honor graduates. The top four honor graduates will be determined by weighted GPA 3.9 or higher.

Class Rank

Rank in class (based on weighted GPA) is computed by converting a numeric grade to an equivalent based on whether the class is honors, regular (includes non-phased classes) or basic level.
