The Gainesville City School System started a foundation in December 2001 to provide teachers with additional resources to implement innovative programs in the classroom. We are proud of the generous contributions made by our teachers, administrators, staff and community.  

There are five categories of giving in which donors may contribute. These are:

Technology | Fine Arts | Laptop | Science and Math | The General Fund

We provide an opportunity for teachers, administrators and staff to utilize payroll deduction as a way of making a contribution. Currently, teachers, administrators and staff contribute $581.⁰⁰ each month. 

Our goal is to reach $1,000.00 per month in payroll deductions.

During the 2003-2004 school year, the foundation awarded $8,000 in competitive grants to teachers that enabled them to fund projects that might not otherwise receive funding. During Spring 2007 look for grant guidelines and applications.
