How to Register
For your convenience, registration forms may be found at the bottom of this page or on page 32 of the guide at the Gainesville Recreation Website, www.gainesville.org/recreation.
Children under the age of 18
Please be aware that a copy of his/her birth certificate must accompany the registration form when registering your child for an athletic program or summer day camp only. A parent or legal guardian signature is required for all programs.
City Resident Discount
The cost of supplying the programs and services of Gainesville Parks and Recreation are paid for primarily with city taxes
dollars. Therefore, persons residing within the city limits of Gainesville on property taxed by the city will receive a discount on programs offered by Gainesville Parks and Recreation which require registration at a cost of more than $5. The amount of the discount can be found in each class description. Participants can
show proof of residency by providing a valid driver’s license or utility bill.
Easy Ways to Register
For your convenience, we offer the following registration methods. Please keep in mind that registration is accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If a program is filled, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified by phone of an opening. Participants may pay with cash,
check, Visa or Master Card.
1. In Person
Visit our offices located in the Gainesville Civic Center, 830 Green Street, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
2. By Mail or Fax
Complete the registration form on page 32 or at www.gainesville.org/recreation and send with a check or credit card information to: GPRA, 830 Green Street, Gainesville, GA. 30501 or fax your registration form with your Visa or Mastercard information to (770) 531-2681.
3. By Phone
Adult participants may register by calling (770) 531-2680. We will gladly accept Visa or Mastercard credit card payments.
Program Cancellations
Class cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced on WDUN AM 550, can be heard on our weather hotline at 770) 297-5453, and will be posted on our website at www.gainesville.org/recreation . If your class is cancelled or changed because it has not met its minimum requirement, you will be notified prior to the beginning of the program. You may choose to apply your fee to another program, or you will receive a full refund. Credit card payments will be credited, and checks will be issued in a timely manner for cash and check payments.
Activity Refund Policy
A 100% refund will be given for activities cancelled by Gainesville Parks and Recreation. Refund requests made prior
to the start of the program will be granted without explanation.
Program Satisfaction Guarantee
If for any reason you are not satisfied with a Gainesville Parks and Recreation activity, we will refund your money in full (or give you a credit toward a future activity) if you make your request before the second meeting of the activity.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance for children under the age of 18 is available to city residents on a first come first serve basis and a sliding fee scale is applied.
Facility Rental Information
The Gainesville Civic Center and MarthaHope Cabin offers meeting space for weddings, receptions, luncheons, dinners,
training seminars and other business or personal needs. For rental fees, please contact (770) 531-2682 or www.gainesville.org/recreation and click on facilities.
Park Pavilion Rentals
You may be interested to know that many area parks have pavilions that may be rented for family gatherings, birthday parties and company picnics. For a list of these parks, refer to page 27 or www.gainesville.org/recreation. Park pavilions
are a popular choice for events from March - October, so please make your reservations by calling (770) 531-2680.

Tennis
Tennis is the sport you play for a lifetime and enjoy no matter what your age. It’s a great workout that relieves stress and improves agility. affordable classes for the beginner and intermediate level and tournaments throughout the year. Our tennis facilities are open to everyone. So come out and play!

Pee Wee Tennis
Utilizing smaller racquets, lighter tennis balls and half-size court, participants will learn the basic strokes, game strategy, rules and etiquette.

Beginner Level
Four one-hour classes give novice players the skills, confidence and knowledge to begin playing tennis. The
goal of each class is to introduce one or more skills necessary to play tennis while keeping the environment simple enough to build confidence.

Intermediate Level
Reviews the basic strokes taught in beginner classes while introducing new skills. Students begin actual play to learn positioning, rules and scoring. Participants should have completed beginner classes or have some prior experience.

Competitive Adult Men’s Open Leagues
Leagues are conducted by the staff at Allen Creek Soccer Complex with an emphasis on having fun and getting some exercise. This popular league is great for corporate and church teams, if you’re new to town, or just want to get on a teams roster.

The Allen Creek Soccer Complex is a first-class soccer facility conveniently located off Monroe Drive, and exits 20 & 22 off 985, in Gainesville. This facility is a Public-Private Partnership between the City of Gainesville Parks & Recreation Agency, Hall County Parks & Leisure Services and the residents of Gainesville and Hall County.
