Brand Guidelines

Gainesville City Schools has a rich history of excellence and a well-known and respected brand. Gainesville officially adopted the Red Elephant as its mascot in 1935 years after the football team was first referred to as looking like “a herd of Red Elephants” by an announcer in 1920. We are the only high school in the country with the Red Elephant as its mascot.

We are the stewards of that brand and the way that we present Gainesville Red Elephants through visual, digital and written communications helps strengthen our connection with all audiences and promotes our values and vision. Brand guides are an important tool and a best practice to ensure that a consistent tone, look and feel are conveyed. The brand guidebook for Gainesville City Schools seen below includes standards for the use of the logo,  Gainesville Red and other identifying marks.
