Digital Learning Days
Overview
Digital Learning Days exist so that students can continue their learning progress when schools close due to inclement weather or planned digital learning days. Gainesville City Schools will have three planned digital learning days throughout the school year as well as potential Digital Learning Days for inclement weather.

- September 24, 2025: 6th-12th Grades
- November 4, 2025: PreK-5th Grades
- January 20, 2026: All Grade Levels
Planned Digital Learning Days Experience K-5
Students will continue learning asynchronously through instructional learning packets. Ideally, teachers will provide learning packets that reinforce and extend previously taught standards and learning targets.
Incelement Weather: Digital Learning Days Experience K-5
A schoolwide instruction plan will be posted to each school's website for students to complete at home. If you have any issues or concerns, please contact your teacher.
Planned Digital Learning Day Experience 6th-12th
Instruction will continue asynchronously through Canvas. Asynchronous learning allows students to learn independently using online resources and activities without real-time teacher interaction. Ideally, teachers will provide assignments designed to reinforce and extend previously taught standards and learning targets.
Incelement Weather: Digital Learning Day Experience 6th-12th
The experience for 6th-12th graders on Digital Learning Days that occur due to incelement weather will remain the same as the process for planned Digital Learning Days. If you have any issues or concerns, please contact your teacher.
